How to Properly Fit a PetSafe® Spray Bark Collar on My Dog
Before Adjusting
- Make sure the ridges on the fasten buckle are facing up and the strap is threaded through the slide buckle to prevent it from becoming loose around your dog’s neck.
- Ensure there is space between the slide buckle and the quick snap buckle.
- If the slide buckle and quick snap buckle are close together or touching, pull the slide buckle away from the quick snap buckle.
Adjusting the Strap
Fitting the Collar
Place the collar centered on the front of your dog’s neck under his chin. Fasten the collar so that it fits snuggly. You should only be able to fit one finger between the strap and your dog's neck. This will help ensure the bark sensor can properly detect your dog’s bark.
Once you are satisfied with the fit of the collar, remove it from your dog and trim the excess strap, making sure to allow room for growth or a thicker winter coat. To prevent fraying, pass the cut edge through the flame of a lighter or candle to seal.
