How To Train My Pet to the PetSafe® Brand Stay & Play® Compact Wireless Fence Phase 4: Unleashed Supervision
Avoid leaving the collar on your pet for more than 12 hours per day to prevent skin irritation. If redness or irritation is observed, discontinue use of the product until the skin no longer appears to be irritated.
Training your pet to a PetSafe® Stay & Play® Fence is essential for successful integration into your and your pet’s lives.
You will need to complete three 10–15-minute sessions on separate days for each phase. You will also need to have toys and treats available for praise at each session.
If your pet shows signs of stress, increase the amount of playtime in the pet area. Signs of stress can include ears tucked, tail down, cowering, pulling on the leash, or stiffening. Discontinue the training session when your pet is no longer a willing participant.
Phase 4: Unleashed Supervision
Walk around the yard with your pet off-leash to establish comfort.
If your pet leaves the boundary area, remove the collar, and walk the pet back into the pet area.
